30 Days of Kink- Day 20

Day 20: Talk about something within kink/bdsm that you’re curious about/don’t understand

I am a naturally curious person, I honestly ask when I find something I don’t understand. One thing that sometimes gets my interest is switching in the relationship and how the couple if discipline is part of their dynamic addresses a mutual violation.

How do you mean? As in both parties falling out of their ‘role’ at the time, simultaneously?

What I mean is let’s say that the couple’s dynamic is a switch one where both parties are able to assume the Spanker/spankee role in an attempt to make each a better person through rules. Let’s say a rule in the dynamic is respect when speaking to the other partner, sanction for violation being a spanking. Both parties come home and engage in a dispute. He calls her the scientific term for a female dog, she call’s him the term for one who is born out of wedlock. They say other not nice things. Fight ends. What happens now? They have both violated the rule, rule says spanking is the prescribed sanction. Do the take turns spanking one another or is it like in hockey or football and the infractions cancel one another? The latter seems to contradict the intent of the rule if that is the case, but the first doesn’t seem from a logistic side to make sense either. Imagine going first and then having to sit possibly on a heated rear to administer the discipline to the other. It would pay to go second as long as you don’t anticipate the other partner to really dish it out with their discipline out of the way.

I suppose I am also curious about the idea of switching in the first place and how the dynamics work. To me getting in a spankee or submissive role with sweetness would blow our dynamic to hell and possibly confuse the issue. But just me I guess.

Well that is certainly an interesting question. Not that I have any experience in ‘dynamics’ of any sort but logic would dictate that if no one remained in the dominant role during the fight then no one should take the dominant role for punishment either … just a thought.
I assume that if it was an ongoing issue then perhaps the relationship was not a good fit over all? All hypothetical from my view of course! 😀
